Reverend Sandra L. Smith was born in Erie, Pa., the daughter of Mittie Smith and Ernest Stokes. She graduated from East High School and went on to receive her certificate at Mercyhurst College, Police Academy.
One of her favorite Bible versus is from Jeremiah 32:27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?”
At the age of 21, she asked Jesus into her heart and began developing her relationship with her Savior. She was called into the ministry in her early 30s and licensed and ordained. The Lord blessed her to minister side by side with her sister, Rev. Nettie Smith where they began Rock Of Ages Compassion Ministries. God then called us to begin a women’s ministry called Ladies Apostolic Roundtable and a prison ministry called Hidden Jewels.
Over the years Reverend Sandra Smith was sent out to minister in the Erie community and other states spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She became an author in 2019, where, inspired by a dream, she wrote, Born To Break The Curse: The Story of Peter Mason James.
In 2025, she was trained by the Trauma Healing Institute as she has a great desire to help and minister to those who have experienced traumatic incidents in their lives. She is especially focused on helping victims of sex trafficking.
She is also a member of the National Faith Advisory Board through the White House. As an intercessor, she understands the power of prayer and is part of a team of prayer warriors that come together twice a week to intercede for the nations.
She has been very blessed to have been deeply involved with raising her oldest great-niece, who is more like a daughter, and now watching her raise her beautiful family alongside her husband.
She is currently employed at Penn State Behrend where she has worked for the last 32 years. She is also working on becoming a business owner to help people in need.
